Classical flute after Friedrich Kirst (late C18)
The original is an excellent example of an early keyed flute which can be seen in the Bate collection. Made of ebony, it has 7 silver keys including a "Quantz" D# key, enabling performance of the more advanced classical and early romantic music. The original is pitched around a’=427Hz and copies are available at 430Hz and 440Hz, as are extra middle joints for change of pitch. It also has a screw adjustable headjoint cork and a footjoint tuning slide.
A headjoint tuning slide can be provided as an optional extra. Other options are boxwood or keys of nickel silver.
